Our institution’s interest about internationalization stems from the deep conviction that this is a growth opportunity in several aspects (work, social and life related) that affects the whole educational community: Students, teachers and families; that it enhances the knowledge of other realities and that it helps to diversify the view that other people have of our institution.
The challenges that we face when we wrote our centre’s internationalization strategy are the following ones:
To train professionals that can integrate with success in the workforce.
Promote the sustainable development of Castilla and Leon society.
Introduce the education for sustainable development in Vocational Training.
Create an action plan integrated in the transversal lines of work of the Institute.
For that we need: To develop the competences of sustainability associated with the professional qualification of the cycles taught at the centre.
To implant didactic methodologies that allow the students to learn during their whole life, as well as to seek creative and collaborative solutions.
To improve the attention to diversity of interests and necessities of our students.
To improve the training of the teachers to develop the competences of sustainability and to introduce in the classroom the technological and management innovations associated with sustainability in the industrial and renewable energies fields.
To introduce our Erasmus plan in one of the transversal lines of work of the centre, seeking synergies with other projects and activities that are performed at the institute.
In this internationalization frame, we would like to succeed in allowing that any student of any speciality or Vocational Training level that are taught at our centre has the opportunity of doing part of their formation abroad, specially during the realization of placements at companies, be it with the Formation at Work Centres module or part of that module, or doing placements with newly qualified students. For that, and taking into account that it is an experience that interests older and under-age with different degrees of independence and maturity, and with different social and economical conditions, we try to balance such differences with actions that minimize them: Workshops for prepare the students to live together, language courses, help during the preparation of scholarships and other helps, etc.
In this internationalization process, the participation of the teachers is indispensable and for that it is needed the cooperation of the whole management team and the creation of a core working team that allows us to project our program to the future. The participation of these Vocational Training teachers in Job Shadowing activities and other activities of training abroad are essential to create that European culture so needed nowadays.
Our work strategy is to sign collaboration agreements with European Vocational Training Institutes that help us to locate companies that offer quality positions for the training and to help us with the basic arrangements: Seeking living accommodations, helping our students if they need it, etc. In exchange our centre offers the same: To look for companies that match the profile of the students that ask for it, and the compromise of accompanying that student during their stay at our city.
